Attendance at school is one of our three key areas for improvement at Charters Towers Central State School.  It is expected that students have a maximum of 10 days off per year.  So far one quarter of our students have already had 10 days or more of absence and we have only had one term!

This is not good enough.  Everyday counts and Mr Barath will not allow students to miss vital days and weeks of schooling, particularly at such a critical age. Mr Barath is sending attendance improvement letters to the parents of students who have had five or more unexplained days of absence for the year so far. These letters are the first step towards prosecution if there is not a vast improvement in students attendance at school.

Please, send your children to school every day.  We want them to be the best that they can be and they can only do that with a solid foundational education.  For those parents who are sending their children every day, thank you for the future that you are providing.
